This document analyzes Colombian regulations regarding data retention, and compares them
with those in Peru, Mexico and Brazil from the perspective of compliance with international
standards for establishing measures that restrict fundamental rights, especially freedom of
expression and privacy. Given the specifics of the Argentinean case, an overall comparison will
be omitted, but specific comparisons will be used when appropriate.
